The Luyu LW5D is a 3-position universal rotary cam switch designed for electrical control circuit switching, motor control, and power changeover applications. Available in eight current ratings—20A, 25A, 32A, 40A, 63A, 80A, and 100A—this switch accommodates a broad spectrum of industrial and commercial electrical requirements. It operates in AC 50/60Hz circuits up to 500V and DC circuits up to 440V.

Built with silver alloy contacts and high-grade insulating materials, the LW5D delivers stable conductivity, low contact resistance, and reliable long-term performance. The 3-position configuration (typically 1-0-2 or Auto-Stop-Manual) enables seamless switching between power sources, circuits, or operational modes. Panel mount design ensures straightforward installation into standard industrial enclosures and control panels.

The LW5D is suitable for switching electrical control circuits (electromagnetic coils, measuring instruments, servo motors) and can directly control 5.5kW three-phase squirrel-cage induction motors for starting, reversing, and speed variation. Certified to international standards, this rotary cam switch delivers dependable performance for OEMs, panel builders, and maintenance engineers.

Silver Alloy Contacts

Silver alloy contact material provides excellent electrical conductivity with minimal contact resistance, reducing heat generation at high current loads. The contact design incorporates a self-cleaning wiping action during each switching operation, which removes surface oxidation and maintains consistent conductivity over thousands of cycles. This translates to lower power loss and longer interval between maintenance checks.

The standard 1-0-2 (or Auto-Stop-Manual) configuration provides three distinct switching states—two energized positions with a center off. This design supports changeover between two power sources (mains/generator, utility/backup), forward/reverse motor operation, or automatic/manual mode selection. The distinct tactile detent at each position gives operators clear feedback, reducing the risk of incorrect switching.

The LW5D series covers 20A, 25A, 32A, 40A, 63A, 80A, and 100A—eight capacity options across a single product family. This broad range simplifies inventory management for distributors and panel builders, while allowing precise matching to motor loads, lighting banks, or distribution feeders. No need to switch brands or series as load requirements scale up or down.
